How good are surge protectors

Think of them as insurance. From my perspective. they don t have voltage regulators. so in reality they are not surge protectors. but lightning protectors.

Most contain Thermistors. that are suppose to burn out with excessive voltage. but as with lightning damage. it may burnout before damage is done. or it may not.

So for peace of mind Use them. but there is no guarantee typically from the manufacter that they will protect your computer
